Like things... Well.... The Avatar character is very nice! There are many design of characters, and we can choose what we like it! Dislike things,, It is very difficult to use it. I didn't know that where is my character and there are many strangers. How could you use it for your teaching? Well, I will show my students what is secondlife and how to use it! If some students want to make their character, I 'll teach them, optional. Advantage is make many friends in there. But, disadvantage is very difficult to me for using this website!

Video conference reflection

I think, this conference is very exciting. It can concentrate to class and learners may feel like exciting and they will have a novel experience. So, I  like it!! But, I don't like preparing this and that, like headset with microphone, does the camera work nomally or broken. How to using video conference in education? Well, first, the class is cancel!! And I meet my learners in oovoo video camera at my home.
Learners are less stressful and they feel restful. Advantage is concentrating, restfulness, and we can use free! But, disadvantage is that expensive for buying equipment, like camera and headset.

Website Evaluation

I chose a website to explain. http://www.manythings.org
This website is very good!! There are lots of information for study and teaching in English.
This page is created by Charles Kelly and Lawrence Kelly. They are expert to in this field, and they made many of written books and websites for people. This page is content reliable and factually correct to me! This page content is up-to-date. The last updated page was 'Learn a song- twinkle twinkle little star'. It was updated at 24th march, 2012. This website is very interesting and stimulating! I think that many kinds of English information are listed in there, like speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar.... etc. And there are many games in there! Hangman, crossword puzzles, matching game,...... etc. So, many students will interest to study english. This page is attractive and very east to navigate. It is work very well, I think that there aren't broken links. I didn't a lot of large files, but there are mp3 files in there..!

Week3 Assignment

1.Consider the difference between EFL related and authentic websites.
-In related websites, EFL websites provide content that student's can use for an exam or homework. In authentic websites, EFL learners are deal with authentic sites, guiding them through not only the text. And Students can be chosen to fit students' interests.

2.Consider how to evaluate a website for classroom use.

1)Accuracy

  • Who wrote the page? Is this person an expert in the subject matter? Check qualifications, experience - look for an 'about me' link.

  • Is the page content reliable and factually correct? Cross-reference with other similar websites and encyclopedias.

2) Currency

  • Is the content up-to-date? Check factual information against other reliable sources.

  • When was the page last updated? Check for information at the bottom/top of the page.

3) Content

  • Is the site interesting and stimulating? Consider the content from your learners' point of view.

  • Is it attractive and easy to navigate? Check the colour combinations, the logic of the links and visual structure.

4) Functionality

  • Does the site work well? Are there any broken links? Be sure to check all pages, and follow all links to all pages you intend to use.

  • Does it use a lot of large files or alternative technologies? Check how quicklt it loads for learners; check sound, video and animation work.

In my opinion, I think that the Currency and Functionality are very important! In currency, we want to see a new posting or update program in website and we can enjoy it. And, in functionality, we have to check up the computer, the website links, sound or video programs.
